    My mom has used them for nearly 5 years and has never had a problem. Though the amount of storage space that you get isn’t particularly good.

    I tried them out temporarily a few years ago and found the following problems then:

    1. If you have a .com domain, the nameservers for 1&1 are not in the UK and so you are unlikely to find yourself in the Google UK specific search results.

    2. They tagged mail rather than filtered it, meaning that if you download mail on your phone, you still have to pay to download the spam.

    3. You couldn’t pay by direct debit.

    4. The quality of their English was poor (customer support)

    5. Leaving the service was a loathsome and difficult process.

    I switched to http://www.xcalibre.co.uk and have no complaints.
